I just pushed my new site design live. My last post got lots of hits and I was tired of the comments about how horrible the site looks :). Please let me know what you think. There are still a couple rough edges, but I think overall it is a lot better!
I would like to thank my brother for putting together the design. I really like it! I hope everyone's eyes have stopped bleeding, and you can now enjoy reading the site :). There are a couple rough edges that will be worked out over the next couple days. Enjoy!

great update. love the beer rss feed... just one question, does that mean if I subscribe I'll receive updates about your drinking habits?

Funny stuff, I was linking your stuff to a friend a few minutes ago and we were wishing your stylesheet was a little less... harsh ;) This is great news!

Okay, so I'll be the ruthless critic. Disclaimer: I'm doing this with good intentions and my opinions aren't that of others, meaning: feel free to ignore all of this.
1: Great step in the right direction. I'm digging it.
2: The white for post date in the right rail is hard to read.
3: Not sure what the icon is in your search box. Looks like a b? I might make it a magnifying glass or something cliche.
4: The light blue for visited headlines in the right rail is very low contrast and is hard to read.
5: Use italics in your quotes at the bottom right of the right rail.
6 More padding between the labels and input fields of your comments.
7 Make your field labels bigger / heavier. They feel dinky compared to the sizing of everything else.
8 Your buttons seem unnecessarily huge. (post/preview). They might look better as half width and next to each other.
9 Your header seems very cramped. I'd likely move your twitter message to the space above or between the rss beer and the nav.
10 I'd also make the twitter thing italics. It just looks classy ;)
11 On a particular post, the previous / next post buttons seem like they would fit better above the title or below the post. (I'd suggest below to give people somewhere to go after reading an article).
12 I really like the surfer on the corn at the bottom.
13 the blueish purple on your blue background seems to be low contrast and hard to read.
14 Your about page is white on grey. It looks like it could use some formatting and a different color.
15 Projects could use some jazzing up. A screenshot (even if its just of a console) would look nice next to it.
16 Your contact page is broken.
17 I think your little surfing on corn theme would do really well as a logo.
18 Some non-blue accents might pair nicely with the design. Maybe some more orange pulled from that RSS icon?
19 Comment previews aren't styled at all.

oh, 2 more.
Your homepage doesn't have enough content on it and you need to unbreak markdown ;)

Rather then list even one small improvement... good god this is so much better then before! The last one made my eyes bleed. Although contrast is your friend... much better!

Great work! The old design was indeed a little bit harsh on the eyes.
